Huskerstruck was originally written in the Spring of 2006 by Trevor Fiala. Penned with passion for

Nebraska Football, driven by a dream to create the ultimate Husker Football song. The song would mostly sit on the shelf over the next 17 years. With the lyrics evolving with the ebbs and flows of coaching shifts and conference dynamics. 

However, the timing just never seemed right to take the next step and actually record the song. Due to the aforementioned coaching and conference changes. Then came the hiring of Trev Alberts. And, just as importantly, the hiring of Coach Matt Rhule. Things began to feel different, better in Lincoln than they had for many, many years. And the timing to produce Huskerstruck never seemed more perfect.

As 2023 dawned, destiny had its moment. The electrifying band, Shoot To Thrill; with Bruce Knapp on vocals, Pat Allgire and Jimmy Little on guitar, Mark Rothermund on drums, and Blaine Morris on bass; stepped into the limelight. Together, they dove into the musical depths of Jeremy Garrett’s Hidden Tracks Studios, with one shared vision: to breathe life into Huskerstruck. 

In that creative sanctuary, the song metamorphosed yet again, shaped by the genius of Jeremy and the raw energy and talent of Shoot To Thrill. The song went through one last lyrical revamp added by all of those involved. Jacob Van Noy came on board as well. Jake not only helped enhance the song with his guitar work. He also had a keen sense to add something musically unique to Nebraska. He embedded an Easter egg at the end of Huskerstruck. A nod all true Husker fans would unmistakably recognize.

While echoing of the iconic AC/DC's "Thunderstruck", make no mistake: this melody is woven with the heart and soul of Nebraska Football. Over recent months, what emerged was nothing short of magical, far surpassing even Trevor’s wildest dreams. It was quickly realized that this was not just a song; but also a new Husker Football anthem.

This is a call to arms, an anthem which will resonate with every Husker player, coach, and fan. It is a unique masterpiece, mirroring the unparalleled passion Husker Football ignites in all of us. An anthem destined to inspire our warriors on the field, and send shockwaves of energy through the stands, making the very foundations of the  old gal on 10th & Vine shake with excitement.
